Instead of heavy wax impregnation, a low-oil wax formulation or microcrystalline wax blend is applied in controlled, thinner layers, often followed by mechanical finishing (calendering) and curing. This binds the wax more evenly within the fabric, resulting in a matte, dry-to-the-touch surface.
