E.g. needle sizes 5 and 3 fit perfectly with thread thickness 0.6 mm; Size 1 for thread thickness 0.8 mm; Size 4/0 suitable for thread thickness 1.2 mm, size 7 suitable for thread thickness 0.3 mm.

Size 3 fits 0.8mm flat shape. Round yarn can no longer be threaded through. It's about the same as size 5, just longer.
